Dear National Park Advocate,

In the midst of this global health crisis, the National Parks
Conservation Association advises all individuals to follow the
guidance of public health experts at the Centers for Disease Control
and the World Health Organization in protecting themselves and their
communities from the coronavirus.

Last week, we took the step of canceling all upcoming NPCA events
until further notice. This includes group outings to parks, information
sessions, and all meetings at any of our offices nationwide. If you
have signed up for any of our events, we will be in touch with
rescheduling information at a later date.

Some parks, like Golden Gate National Recreation Area and some parts
of the National Mall and Memorial Parks announced closures over the
weekend. Others may do the same, so please check with nps.gov before
planning even a short trip to a national park.

We will remain in contact with park staff and alert you if there are
more changes. And because we know that some threats to parks will
persist even during a global health crisis, we will continue keeping
you updated about how you can take action online to protect national
parks.

All of us at NPCA appreciate the patience and support of our advocates
and allies during this time, and we send our heartfelt concern to all
affected.

Sincerely,

Theresa Pierno
President & CEO
