Vote By Mail in Jail takes all year

By now hopefully you’ve read our Vote By Mail in Jail report and have learned about the 500,000 incarcerated citizens who can vote, our national program to help them cast a ballot, and our 79.4% turnout rate. We are incredibly proud of those numbers, and we are ready to break our own records. Next year we will work in more jails, with more incarcerated citizens, and we will help an even higher percentage vote.

With your help.

Starting in January we’ll be recruiting new jails across the country, communicating with incarcerated citizens about how they can vote, and getting our program set up to be the biggest one yet. We’ll have some great opportunities to help us reach out to incarcerated citizens so stay tuned. In the meantime, the fundraising we do this month will help us determine how big our program can be next year. We provide all of the voting materials, including custom voter guides for incarcerated voters, and even little mailboxes for the jails. This is tough and time consuming work but it is so worth it, especially in an election as big as next year’s.

As you’re prepping for (or maybe hiding from) the holidays, please consider if you can spare a few dollars to help us reach more incarcerated voters next year. Your donation will make such a difference.
