In the fragile Arctic habitat of polar bears, caribou, and

NRDC Supporter,

Today, ConocoPhillips plans to resume construction on the
Willow oil drilling project in the Western Arctic —
industrializing the fragile home of polar bears, wolves, caribou,
shaggy muskoxen, and other vulnerable animals.

The construction of this massive project — including
hundreds of miles of roads and pipelines — will lead to dramatic
habitat loss in this near pristine ecosystem.

We're fighting in court to stop the illegally approved
Willow Project and protect the region's imperiled wildlife — but
we are up against powerful fossil fuel interests. Donate just $5
to our Holiday Drive for Wildlife and your gift will be MATCHED,
up to $80,000, to defend our environment and stop the Willow
Project before it destroys the Arctic forever. ( [link removed] )

Help Stop the Willow Project ( [link removed] )

The animals in the Western Arctic are already struggling to
survive on the frontlines of climate change. The Willow Project
threatens to drive them even further to the brink.

Willow would dump hundreds of millions of tons of carbon
pollution into our atmosphere over its lifetime — the equivalent
of adding 1.8 million gas-burning cars to the road for 30 years.

Worse yet: The fossil fuel industry is using the Willow
Project as a launching pad for even more climate-warming drilling
across the Arctic.

Emboldened by the Biden administration's decision to
approve the project, ConocoPhillips has already filed for a
permit to explore for oil and gas on nearly 230,000 acres of
unspoiled Arctic tundra next door.

This rapid escalation of fossil fuel development in the
Arctic is a nightmare for all living creatures.

NRDC has the best lawyers and advocates working in and out
of court to stop the Willow Project, but we won't succeed without
the support of people like you. Please power our fight to stop
the disastrous Willow Project and protect Arctic wildlife today
while your tax-deductible gift goes twice as far. Even $5 makes a
big difference. ( [link removed] )

Caribou, polar bears, migratory birds... they're counting
on us to act now to safeguard the Arctic before it's too late.

Sincerely,

Bobby McEnaney
