"When a doctor files lawsuit after lawsuit to get out from under basic health and safety regulations that he’s repeatedly violated, he shouldn’t be understood to do so for the sake of his patient’s access to healthcare." —Steven H Aden Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel at Americans United for Life

Louisiana Abortion Law at the Supreme Court
(National Constitution Center) A challenge to the Louisiana abortion law that requires doctors performing abortions to have hospital admitting privileges was heard by the Supreme Court last week. Julie Rikelman of the Center for Reproductive Rights, who argued on behalf of the abortion providers in June Medical Services v. Russo, and Catherine Glenn Foster of Americans United for Life, who authored an amicus brief on behalf of Members of Congress on the opposing side of the case, joined host Jeffrey Rosen on this week’s episode. They presented the arguments on both sides of the case — diving into the facts, considering whether admitting privilege requirements are prudent and whether the “undue burden” standard established by the 2016 Supreme Court case Whole Women’s Health v Hellerstedt is workable, and explaining how they think this case might impact the lives of women.

(Life, Liberty, and Law) Wesley J. Smith, Chair and Senior Fellow at Discovery Institute's Center on Human Exceptionalism, joins Tom Shakely and Noah Brandt to discuss the threat that Communist China poses to human dignity and human rights. Wesley characterizes China as "The Fourth Reich" for its crimes against humanity and the Chinese people and urges the world to stop turning a blind eye to these crimes for the sake of commerce and profit.

Bioethicists: Euthanasia Will Save Money and Facilitate Organ Donations
(National Review) This advocacy is both immoral and amoral. It creates a disposable caste of people and reduces the sick and suicidal to mere beans for the counters to enter on spreadsheets. Normal people don’t think like these authors, which is why we should never cede power to the bioethics movement to determine the medical ethics and public health policies that impact us and those we love.
