Main Plaza has been a center of San Antonio?s civic life since the 18th century. Its hundreds of years of architecture include governmental, commercial, and religious buildings, one of which is San Fernando Cathedral. Applications are open now for the 2024 Preservation Scholars cohort! In this paid internship program by the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission, undergraduate and graduate students from underrepresented groups gain exposure to exciting opportunities in the fields of architecture, archeology, downtown revitalization, heritage tourism, and more. The premier historic preservation and heritage tourism conference in the Lone Star State, Real Places 2024 is presented by the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission in partnership with Phoenix I Restoration and Construction, LLC. It will take place April 3-5 both online and at the?Renaissance Austin?Hotel. Recordings will be available to all attendees, whether joining us online or in person, so you?ll be able to watch all the great presentations you missed due to concurrent sessions.
