<[link removed]>Take Israel to the International Court of Justice! <[link removed]>ACT NOW! <[link removed]>

John,

Over 20,000 dead, 50,000 wounded, 1.9 million uprooted.

Our heart aches for Gaza, and we must do all we can to stop this madness Israel is perpetrating on the Palestinian people. Signatories to the UN's first human rights treaty; the Genocide Convention should be calling for a case to be opened against Israel. We need to push them.

Urge signatories to the Genocide Convention to charge Israel with genocide at the International Court of Justice! <[link removed]>

If, after an investigation, the ICJ concludes that Israel should be prosecuted for the crime of genocide, the UN General Assembly, even if the US and Israel kick and scream, can pressure the International Criminal Court to prosecute the crime of genocide in Gaza.

As signatories to the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide, 153 nations are obligated not just to punish genocide but to prevent it. Under the Convention, genocide is defined as acts perpetrated to bring about the physical destruction, in whole or in part, of a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.

Israel’s bombing of 2.3 million Gazans over the last 75 days, while denying access to water, food, medicine and fuel and no escape from the slaughter, undeniably meets the criteria for genocide.

Encourage governments who have already spoken out against the slaughter in Gaza to take the next step and file charges with the ICJ! <[link removed]>

It only takes one country to start the process. Which countries are most likely to file? Algeria, Pakistan, South Africa and Turkey, since their leaders have already accused Israel of genocide for bombing apartments, hospitals, clinics, UN refugee centers and escape routes. Countries that have recalled their ambassadors to Israel include Bahrain, Bolivia, Chad, Chile, Colombia, Honduras, Jordan, as well as others.

- Algeria’s President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said <[link removed]>: “Where is humanity? And where is the global conscience that has become absent regarding the genocide being committed?”’

- Pakistan’s UN Ambassador Munir Akram said <[link removed]>: ‘”We cannot mince our words; we have to tell the Israelis: stop the genocide.”

- South Africa'sPresident Cyril Ramaphosa said <[link removed]>: "The collective punishment of Palestinian civilians through the unlawful use of force by Israel is a war crime. The deliberate denial of medicine, fuel, food and water to the residents of Gaza is tantamount to genocide."

- Türkiye’s President Tayyip Erdogan called <[link removed]> on Israel to “immediately end its operations amounting to genocide.”

While we continue to pour into the streets to protest for Palestine, we must press those with their hands on the legal levers of power to act. All these pressures can bring us closer to a ceasefire.

Join the thousands that have already signed on to take Israel to court for turning Gaza into a graveyard for children. <[link removed]>

STOP the genocide! We can’t slow down now; Gaza is counting on us.

Towards Peace,

Marcy, Nour and the entire CODEPINK team
