AIS watercraft check stations break records for high-risk inspections, decontaminations and mussel boats in 2023

Wyoming once again faced an increased risk from aquatic invasive species in 2023, but remains free of invasive mussels.?Over the inspection season, Wyoming Game and Fish Department staff at watercraft check stations inspected more than 73,000 boats across the state to protect the state?s waters from invasive aquatic plants and animals.

Flaming Gorge open houses draw in concerned anglers

Fisheries managers from Wyoming Game and Fish?s Green River region held open houses in October and November to discuss the status of the Flaming Gorge Reservoir fishery and the challenges it is facing. Many anglers shared the same concerns as the fisheries managers.

Mac Attack Fishing Contest targets small lake trout at Flaming Gorge Reservoir

Hone your fishing skills and see how you stack up against other anglers during the?Mac Attack Fishing Contest, targeting lake trout less than 25 inches at Flaming Gorge Reservoir. The two-day contest is Jan 13-14, 2024. Participants will compete for eight prize categories and enter into five drawings, including two youth drawings. Registered participants can fish from shore, ice or boat.
