SF YIMBY is growing and we want you to help lead it!

Our mission to achieve abundant and affordable housing in all our communities is driven at the grassroots level by our activists and chapters, including our backyard right here in San Francisco. We need leaders who take stances on policies, endorse candidates, do the work to get those candidates elected, plan events, and grow our movement.

These leaders - SF YIMBY Leads - get insider access to expertise in politics, legislation, organizing, and community-building. As part of a nationwide movement, they empower their chapter to make a meaningful difference in their communities. Serving as a Lead is a way to put your YIMBY values into action and gain valuable leadership experience.

If this sounds exciting to you, this is the time to step up! We are looking to build our 2024 Leads cohort and we encourage you to apply. The basic requirements – besides a passion for housing – are:

  • Time to volunteer (1-5 hours per week)

  • Willingness to learn and adapt

  • Curiosity about what others need and what works for your group

We want our leaders to reflect the diversity of our communities, so people of color, women, LGBTQ+ folks, and members of other underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply. We need you at the table!

If you are ready to apply, please review What is a YIMBY Action Lead? then apply at www.yimby.cc/lead-the-movement by January 20, 2024

Looking forward to working with you!
