As you know, I love dogs. Pam and I have fostered dozens of pups over the last few years. We love getting to know their personalities and taking them out to explore (or sniff) our neighborhood.

I believe every dog deserves to have a loving home. That’s why I was so sad when I heard a story recently that broke my heart - over 150 dogs were rescued from a horrific puppy mill. I genuinely don’t understand how someone could intentionally hurt these dogs. It comes down to greed - plain and simple.

Then I did some research and found that the Humane Society estimates there are over 10,000 of these puppy mills in the United States! It’s just terrible.

That’s why I’m a proud co-sponsor of the Puppy Protection Act. This legislation will raise the legal standards to ensure all dogs are treated with basic necessities such as food, water, and veterinary care.
