John,

Climate change is a danger to our families and our way of life.

A few months ago, the world experienced the hottest summer on record — I remember receiving notifications, day after day, of excessive heat advisory warnings. As a boy, I’d spend the entire summer day outside playing. Now, streets seem deserted during weeks of 100-degree heat.

With climate change, winters get warmer and winter storms become more extreme.

We can expect worse than the one we experienced in 2021 when electric grid failures in the 2021 freeze led to 246 deaths. Texas isn’t used to such extreme winter weather, and bad policies have left us unprepared.

It’s true that Texas has always had unique weather patterns, but climate change has made them more deadly because poor leadership has a disparate impact on our communities of color. It’s time for change.

Fighting climate change can be a transformational economic opportunity that can raise wages and create stable careers for our communities.

As a Representative in Congress, I will promote measures to continue expanding the Texan clean energy economy and work to protect Dallas residents most affected by climate change.

Are you ready to help make change and fight climate change? You can go ahead and make a donation of $5 to support my campaign >>
