Dear John,

Over 1.1 million people– including you – signed UNHCR’s Hope Away From Home petition. Last week, we delivered your message to the Global Refugee Forum where your voice - alongside voices of our supporters from all over the world – had an impact calling for action and change for refugees.

For change to happen, we need to work together. Your action counts. It has sent a strong message to leaders and decision makers as well as a message of hope to refugees. Right now, this could not be more critical. The number of refugees around the world has now reached 36.4 million. There are new and protracted crises everywhere from Ukraine to Sudan, from Afghanistan to Venezuela. This demands an unprecedented global response and every action – including your action of signing this petition - makes a difference.

So, thank you once again. We rely on your solidarity and support to help demonstrate that kindness surpasses hate and unity overcomes division even in the most challenging circumstances. 

As we approach the New Year, let's carry hope into 2024.
