Attendance was poor at Fikano Primary School in Tanzania. During break time, children walked home to find food and didn’t come back.

In partnership with Global Volunteers, Rise Against Hunger began providing each student with two meals a day at school ([link removed] ) . Everything changed.

“Now we have increased student performance, and almost all of the students come to school and attend classes because they don’t have to worry about food anymore. We have learned that hunger affects children’s learning and physical development and can also affect the ability

to focus.”
