John, It’s Tom Suozzi, the Democratic nominee in the special election to replace George Santos.
I wanted to tell you a bit more about why this race is so important to me.
My father was born in Italy and my mother in Queens. Like so many others, they lived the American Dream and I'm so grateful they did. They taught my brothers and sister and me to work hard and to work for our community. They inspired my public service as Mayor of Glen Cove, Nassau County Executive, and U.S. Representative.
But increasingly, the American Dream is out of reach for so many. The cost of living is way too high, people don’t feel safe on the streets, and our leaders are too busy with arguments and petty politics to solve problems like climate change or our broken immigration system.
And to make matters worse, George Santos represented NY-03 for 11 months, in which he did nothing other than distract and divide us until he was finally expelled.
Now, there’s a special election in NY-03 on February 13, and I’m humbly asking for your support. This race is a toss-up, so grassroots support really matters. We need to bring sanity back to our government so we can rebuild the American Dream. Can I count on you to pitch in now -- splitting a donation between my campaign and Seth Moulton?
