Dear John,

Almost two months ago, Senate Republicans released a border proposal ([link removed]) that includes multiple extremist anti-immigrant policy changes.

Currently, the White House has made it clear they are open to negotiating on these terms, willing to gut and essentially END asylum in favor of Trump-era policies. These changes would significantly limit and and restrict parole, separate and incarcerate families at the border, reinstate Title 42 expulsions, amongst other inhumane practices in exchange for funding for foreign military aid.

Join the NYIC in urging President Biden, Sen. Schumer and Sen. Gillibrand to not concede to this extremist agenda! ([link removed])
Email President Biden and Senators! ([link removed])

The right to seek asylum is a fundamental principle, supported by an overwhelming number of Americans. Immigrants are our family members, our neighbors, our co-workers. They make our communities strong and our culture and economies vibrant–they are not bargaining chips to be toyed with at a negotiating table.

Instead of trying to restrict immigration policies, Congress should be upholding our values by advocating for more humane, just, and inclusive approaches to immigration reform.

Our continued fight against these attacks on members of our communities would not be possible without your support! Continue to show your support by demanding the Biden Administration must reject these Trump-era policies! ([link removed])
In power,
