Unbelievable, friend.
A retired Environmental Protection Agency scientist, Karen McCormack, is finally saying out loud what we’ve known for years: The EPA has been captured by the pesticide industry.
In an interview discussing The New Lede’s groundbreaking reporting on the pesticide paraquat, which has been linked to Parkinson’s disease, McCormack also revealed that “just about every, every new pesticide application that is submitted to the agency is approved, no matter how high the risk”.
This is unacceptable. We need to urgently send a message to the EPA that they answer to the people, not the pesticide industry. Will you complete our survey on toxic pesticides by midnight tonight to help us respond?
Thanks for your feedback, friend.

Subject: Paraquat linked to Parkinson’s
This is unbelievable, friend. EWG’s journalistic arm, The New Lede, has revealed that FOR DECADES the agrichemical company Syngenta plotted to hide scientific evidence showing a link between their pesticide paraquat and Parkinson’s disease. But that’s not all – despite this outrageous scandal, the EPA is still allowing paraquat to be used commercially. This means that users of paraquat will keep being more exposed to this Parkinson’s-linked pesticide, and Syngenta will continue to avoid the consequences of their coverup. It’s unconscionable that agricultural workers could be exposed to chemicals that could cause Parkinson's without knowing it. Can we count on you to complete our quick survey on toxic pesticides by midnight tonight? Your feedback will help us craft our message and formulate our plans to fight back. |
