John, public lands are vital to thriving communities. We know this. And yet, it still needs to be said—over and over and over again.
Why? Because for as many benefits as public lands provide, there are just as many threats they endure from rampant development and climate change.
If we’re to ensure that everyone will have access to the benefits and joys of the outdoors for generations to come, we must redouble our conservation efforts in the year ahead.
Will you power the movement to improve mental and physical health, strengthen communities, and preserve our beloved green spaces with a tax-deductible gift today?
Since 1972, Trust for Public Land has worked hand in hand with communities to connect millions of people to the benefits and joys of the outdoors. Thanks to people like you, we’ve been able to preserve 4 million acres of land and complete over 5,000 parks, trails, and schoolyards across the U.S.
And with you by our side, we’ll never shy away from the enormity of the challenge. Instead, we’re:
Lands: Working with landowners, partner groups, and public agencies to acquire, create access to, and secure public ownership and stewardship of the lands and waters that make our communities great places to live, work, and play.
Trails: Working with communities to create and protect trail systems across the country. Urban, suburban, and rural trails connect people to nature, recreation, schools, workplaces, and their broader neighborhoods.
Parks: Working alongside youth and community members as well as partners intent on equitable development to create parks that reflect and serve local communities and connect people to nature and each other.
Schoolyards: Working in partnership with students, parents, and communities to redesign and create Community Schoolyards® spaces that are open to the public, serving as a hub for community empowerment, improved health and education, and climate resilience.

We've already made substantial progress together. But we know more is possible.
That’s why we've set a goal to protect even more land and provide even greater value to all who benefit from public lands in the year ahead. As a part of our efforts, we’ve set out to empower 500 communities to conserve an additional 1,000,000 acres of public land and 1,000 miles of protected rivers while advocating for $10 billion in new conservation and parks funding!
This work won’t be the same without you, John. So please, help create a lasting impact for future generations one trail, one park, and one schoolyard at a time.
Make a tax-deductible donation today to advance Trust for Public Land’s mission to connect more people in more places to the outdoors in 2024.
Thank you,
Barry Hirsch

P.S. We do our best not to ask members for gifts who just made a gift, but sometimes our records don't update fast enough to keep recent donors from receiving an appeal like this. So, if you did just give, thank you for your support, and our apologies for the extra request!
