Governor Kelly Announces

Administration Appointments

TOPEKA – *Today, Governor Laura Kelly announced three appointments and four reappointments to the following state boards and commissions.

*_State Board of Examiners in Optometry_*
Purpose: To administer and enforce the provisions of Kansas Optometry Law so that the highest quality of eye care is provided to the citizens of Kansas.


* Dr. Gary Beaver, Independence

*_Elevator Safety Advisory Board_*
Purpose: To advise the state fire marshal and make recommendations regarding rules and regulations necessary to implement and enforce the provisions of this act. The board shall annually review any rules and regulations adopted by the state fire marshal pursuant to this act.


* Jake Poteete, Topeka

*_State Building Advisory Commission_*
Purpose: To evaluate and select a short list of firms to be interviewed by user agencies for capital improvement projects. 


* Fran Hug, Topeka (reappointment)
* Tathiana Woolery, Overbrook (reappointment)
* August Bogina, Shawnee (reappointment)
* Jim Rinner, Topeka (reappointment)

*_Board of Veterinary Examiners _*
Purpose: To promote the health, safety, and welfare by examining and licensing applicants for veterinary medicine.
