Excellence in Action Award
The “Excellence in Action” Award is presented to the top Civic Engagement Coordinator who brings the MCBA program to life in their company. They find creative ways to keep civic and charitable activities in front of their teams. This can be an even bigger challenge with large companies who work across the metroplex, such as this year’s honoree.
Luke Morales and Leticia Mercado at Driver Pipeline were awarded the “Excellence in Action” award for their tireless efforts and willingness to always try new ways to engage their employees.

Advancement in Leadership Award
Our “Advancement in Leadership Award” recognizes the CEO who has taken the lead in their company to make civic engagement part of their company DNA. This leader takes a hands on approach during to ensure all employees are contributing and sharing their voices.
This year’s honoree for the “Advancement in Leadership Award” was not content with the results from the beginning of the year, so they tried different approaches to engage their team. Greg Smith’s leadership at GTN Technical Staffing really paid off. In just one year he grew his teams participation from 28% in May to 83% in November!

Community Champion Award
Finally, we would like to recognize the company who is setting the standard for civic engagement in DFW. The “Community Champion Award” recognizes the member company who consistently and tirelessly places the success and well being of our community at the forefront of all they do. Whether through volunteering, adopt a block programs or in other forms of civic participation, they continue to find new ways to engage their employees, consistently increasing their impact.
The Ashford Group of Companies employs hundreds of employees across the metroplex and thousands across our country. For the past three years, they have set the standard for how the MCBA program can come to life.
