Dear John,
Last week, we saw a surge in news coverage about the Coronavirus outbreak.
While the details about the outbreak here in America continue to evolve, please know that I, and the entire ADF team, are keeping this nation, our communities, and each of you in our prayers.
In these uncertain times, I am reminded of Paul’s encouragement to the church of Philippi.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
The spread of the virus and media response has understandably caused some angst. But we do know one thing for certain: we serve an awesome God who is faithful and in complete control. And as followers of Christ, we have the distinct privilege of being able to turn to Him in prayer when we feel tempted to let fear take hold in our hearts.
Would you join us in praying for these five things, specifically?
Pray for protection, and for containment of the Coronavirus.
Pray for our nation’s leaders, that they would have wisdom in how to deal with the virus.
Pray for medical professionals, that God would guide and protect them as they treat those affected.
Pray for our brothers and sisters whose businesses and job stability might be affected.
Pray especially for those who are the most vulnerable to the effects of the virus.
For many of us, business continues as usual. While current efforts to contain the virus have affected some scheduled travel and events, our work here at ADF on behalf of our outstanding clients has continued unimpeded. In that respect, we are so grateful for the gift of technology, as well as the fact that our team members here in the U.S. and around the world remain healthy and safe.
We praise God for that.
On a personal note, I am thankful for times like this that remind me of the powerful impact you have on this ministry. Your prayers and support give life to ADF, and they are a daily encouragement in our offices here in the U.S. and around the world.
I’m so grateful for you, John. It is truly a privilege to serve alongside you as we work together to keep the doors open for the Gospel.
