The United States spends far more per person for healthcare and our health outcomes are middling at best when compared to other western democracies.
Because of the incredible cost of healthcare, we have seen a medical debt crisis explode in our country. We’ve seen folks decide to forgo medical care in order to pay bills. We’ve seen people not fill their prescriptions because they just can’t afford it.
Not only is our current private insurance system not working for people, but, as a business person, I can tell you that the way we fund healthcare right now is economically unsustainable.
Medicare for All is a common sense solution that brings people together. Polls consistently show it is wildly popular with Democrats, Independents and Republicans. Who is it not popular with? Yes, you guessed it. The private health insurers and the pharmaceutical industry are dead set against it because they will no longer be able to gouge Americans.
