Friend,
Do you know how our Global Partners program helps to achieve our mission of global population stabilization?
Each of our Global Partners was handpicked because their own community-based efforts—in places ranging from Venezuela to Nepal … from Guatemala to Uganda—directly help to remove barriers to girls’ education, to expand access to family planning and reproductive health services, or to combine wildlife conservation with public health outreach.
Our Global Partners fully complement Population Connection’s education and advocacy programs in the U.S. We’re proud and humbled to support their work as yet another way to achieve zero population growth, once and for all.
Through December 31st, you can join your fellow supporters in contributing to our special $250,000 Global Partners Matching Gift Campaign. Your gift of $15.00 will be doubled! [[link removed]]
Your gift will help support our Global Partners in the year ahead—such as Kakenya’s Dream in Kenya .
Founded in 2008 by Dr. Kakenya Ntaiya, Kakenya’s Dream began as a single school serving 30 vulnerable Maasai girls. Many Maasai families put their limited resources towards educating only their sons, who are typically held responsible for supporting their parents in their old age. Many girls thus have little hope for a future beyond the confines of child marriage, early childbearing, and housekeeping.
In the area served by Kakenya’s Dream, nearly 80% of girls endure female genital mutilation (FGM) at puberty; 50% are married before the age of 19; and only 17% complete a primary education. Providing quality education can save girls from child marriage and unlock a new future of possibilities for them, their families, and their communities!
Thanks to support from Population Connection donors through our Global Partners program, Kakenya’s Dream educated 352 girls last year and served approximately 6,500 young people in health, education, and leadership initiatives.
This work is made possible by generous donors, people like YOU!
