In recent testimony before the House Oversight Committee, Carol Fox, a trustee for the now-bankrupt hospital operator Americore, made startling allegations involving one of President Joe Biden's family members and close confidants. Fox claimed that James Biden, the president's younger brother, allegedly defrauded her company of $600,000, with a third of that sum reportedly directed to the president himself.

During the Capitol Hill committee hearing, Fox recounted her interactions with James Biden, who, according to her, pledged to utilize his family name to "open doors" and establish "political connections" that could bring new business opportunities to the struggling Americore. Fox and a previous lawsuit by Americore asserted that James Biden received a $600,000 loan in anticipation of facilitating connections between Middle Eastern investors and company executives—a promise that, as Fox stated, remained unfulfilled.

In court filings, Fox emphasized that James Biden had asserted his ability to use the surname "Biden" to facilitate access and secure substantial investments from the Middle East through his political connections. The lawsuit aimed to recover the $600,000 paid to James Biden, although Fox acknowledged her inability to locate records of the loan in the company's financial records.

The payments commenced on March 1st, 2018, with a partial payment of $200,000 sent to James Biden and his wife Sara's bank account. On the same day, the couple transferred an equivalent sum to President Biden's bank account, classifying it as a "loan repayment."

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer raised questions in October, demanding answers from President Biden. Comer emphasized the need for documents proving the alleged loan and clarification on the financial terms of the arrangement. He also questioned whether similar financial arrangements existed with other family members, leading to substantial payments to the president.

A source familiar with the matter revealed to Fox News that Fox was unaware that her company's funds would be funneled to President Biden, and at the time, she was satisfied with a $350,000 settlement as part of the lawsuit.

House Republicans subsequently issued a subpoena to James Biden, urging him to clarify a $40,000 "loan repayment" made to the president years later, originating from overseas funds linked to Hunter Biden and associates. Hunter Biden, in response to a similar subpoena, defied the request, opting for a press conference where he criticized Republican congressmen and discussed personal matters. Notably, the president's daughter was recently reported to owe back taxes, underscoring the family's financial challenges and their apparent determination to capitalize on official positions.
