TIDES | DARING CHANGE | DECEMBER 2023

Dear Tides Partners,

As we wrap up 2023, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the weight of the challenges facing our global community. The ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict and subsequent rise in Islamophobia and antisemitism have taken a toll on all of us, especially those with ties to the impacted communities. In times like these, we must stand together for social justice and human rights.

Tides is committed to shifting power to communities who have been historically denied it. We work in deep partnership with doers and donors to center the leadership of changemakers, connecting them to services, capacity building, and resources to amplify their impact. We look forward to partnering with you in 2024 and beyond to fuel lasting change.

In solidarity,
Janiece Evans-Page
Tides Chief Executive Officer

// Moving More Money, More Urgently… Tides Encourages Donors to Get Off Their Assets

We launched our “Get Off Your Assets” campaign in 2019 as a call to action to donors to get serious about moving money to proximate leaders and their communities. Our partners answered the call. In 2020, our grantmaking from Tides DAFs was 75 percent higher than in 2019, and that trend continued through 2022. As we head into a new year, join us in keeping the fire of positive change burning bright. Explore our Tides-led initiatives, offering you a unique opportunity to make a positive impact.

Since 2004, the Jane Bagley Lehman Award has recognized the exemplary accomplishments of individuals working to advance social justice. This year's awards sought out top organizers focused on empowering youth to change our collective future, with an emphasis on LGBTQI+ rights advocacy. The five winners have all demonstrated a commitment to breaking the barriers young people face while voting, mobilizing young voters, and championing critical causes for younger demographics.
