John, it's Ellen.
To me, it's clear as day that Democrats are more fired up than ever to elect pro-choice women.
This year, Democratic pro-choice women defeated Republicans at the ballot box, cementing control of both chambers of the Virginia General Assembly. A pro-choice governor was reelected in deep-red Kentucky. Ohio voters successfully enshrined abortion access in their state's constitution. Choice was on the ballot, and choice won.
I've seen this kind of grassroots energy before. In 1992, EMILYs List grew our membership by 600% and elected four new women to the Senate and 20 to the House. It quickly became known as the "Year of the Woman," but none of this work was accomplished overnight.
Americans everywhere overwhelmingly agree with our pro-choice values. Next year could be the "Year of the Woman" all over again, but we need the resources to recruit and support candidates who can turn those values into policy. So as we approach 2024, I'm asking you directly, John: Will you chip in to support EMILYs List right now?

I've seen a lot as the founder of EMILYs List. We were a much smaller organization in 1991, when women across the country were fed up with anti-choice extremists making decisions about our fundamental rights. (Sound familiar?!) That anger inspired a nationwide demand for better representation, and the growing EMILYs List community laid the groundwork for a sea change in American politics. We started early, and our efforts were born out on Election Day 1992.
Now, 2024 is quickly approaching. The ultraconservative Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, and 20 states have banned or severely restricted abortion access. And just like in 1992, we are fighting back.
After this year's victories, the groundwork is clearly set to make 2024 another "Year of the Woman," but we can't let up on our work for even a second. Senate candidates like Angela Alsobrooks and Elissa Slotkin, and House candidates like Allyson Muñiz Damikolas and Michelle Vallejo can make all of the difference for abortion rights next November -- but only with your support. It's all hands on deck.
So that's why I'm asking, John: as 2023 comes to a close, will you help Democratic pro-choice women make 2024 another "Year of the Woman?" Donate now to support candidates who can restore abortion access across the country:
