Friend, as we approach the final stretch of 2023, it's with immense pride and gratitude that we look back on the incredible journey we've had. This year has been a testament to our dedication to empowering candidates and advancing our mission. In 2024, we're looking forward to continuing to amplify unheard voices and redefine the political narrative. Thank you for being a vital part of our journey!
Earlier this month, the New Politics team met in-person in Washington, D.C. to reflect on our accomplishments 2023 and discuss priorities and goals for 2024.
Andre D. Carroll is a community leader born and raised in Philadelphia. Andre’s father spent most of his life incarcerated and his mother has been struggling with addiction since before he was born, so he was raised by his grandmother. He has dedicated his life to public service, volunteering for important elections to ensure that progressive candidates are elected. In this episode, Andre discusses his service journey and how he decided to run for office.
Henry Santana was born in the Dominican Republic and immigrated to Boston at a young age. Growing up in public housing in Mission Hill, Henry attended Boston Public Schools and spent his time playing baseball at Marcella Park.
After graduating from Lasell University, Henry dove head-first into public service. He worked as an Aide to Councilor Kenzie Bok, serving as a liaison to Mission Hill and Fenway. Most recently, Henry served as Mayor Michelle Wu’s Director of Civic Organizing, where he worked to eliminate barriers to civic engagement and expand opportunities for everyone to be involved in their communities.
Henry Santana ran and won his campaign for Boston City Council At-Large in November. He’s committed to using his voice to advocate for equity, justice, and opportunity, and to working collaboratively with others to build a better Boston for all.
