Good Morning California Young Democrats,

Happy holidays to you! As I highlighted in my last email ([link removed]) , existing and new CYD chapters and many of our caucuses must submit all required chartering information ([link removed]) to CYD before December 31, 2023 at 11:59pm per our Bylaws.

Everything you need to know to charter with CYD is on our website ([link removed]) , and if you need assistance, please reach out to your CYD Regional Director ([link removed]) . As an additional resource, please RSVP now to join CYD Vice President of Membership Codi Vierra for a CYD Chartering Workshop on Thursday, December 28, 2023 starting at 7pm ([link removed]) . Codi is an expert, and will walk you through the steps needed to make sure you are all set to submit your required information to CYD for your chapter or caucus. CYD recently finished ratifying hundreds of endorsements for Democrats ([link removed]) and we are going to be holding another internet vote of the CYD State Leadership Committee (SLC) starting January 2, 2024, at 9am, until January 9, 2024, at 11:59pm, in order to consider additional endorsements for Young Democrats running for County Central Committees and the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and to consider the recommendation of the CYD Political Affairs Committee meeting during the recent Endorsing Convention for CYD to dual endorse Barbara Lee and Katie Porter for United States Senate.

If you are a Young Democrat running for County Democratic Central Committee or DNC, and you would like to be considered for CYD’s endorsement, please email our Political Director Navkaran Gurm (mailto:[email protected]?subject=&body=) before the end of the year.

Per CYD Bylaws, if 25% of eligible and voting SLC members vote to postpone any item considered, it will not be considered until our next in person meeting (which will be after the March 5, 2024 Primary election).
