*Grant funding available to expand, develop Concurrent Enrollment programs*

"Postsecondary institutions can apply now for funding to develop Career and Technical Education (CTE) concurrent enrollment courses or expand existing programs"

*St. Paul, Minn. ???*The Minnesota Office of Higher Education is accepting applications for the Concurrent Enrollment Grant Program [ [link removed] ] (CEGP) to provide funds to postsecondary institutions to develop or expand their concurrent enrollment programs. An eligible applicant must be a Minnesota postsecondary institution, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), and accredited (or working toward accreditation) by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP).

Concurrent enrollment programs allow high school students to simultaneously earn college and high school credit by completing a course that is taught in the student?s high school or online through partnerships with local colleges and universities. The intent of the CEGP is to increase college-level curriculum and opportunities to earn college credit in high school, encourage college and high school partnerships, and expand available class sections of popular concurrent enrollment courses already offered.

An eligible applicant can receive funding to support either of the following program initiatives:?


* *New Career and Technical Education (CTE) Concurrent Enrollment Courses: *Develop new concurrent enrollment courses under Minnesota Statutes, section 124D.09, subdivision 10 [ [link removed] ] that satisfy the elective standard for career and technical education.
* *Expansion of Existing Concurrent Enrollment Program:
*Expand concurrent enrollment programs already offered by the postsecondary institution and support the preparation, recruitment, and success of students who are underrepresented in concurrent enrollment classrooms by creating new sections within the same high school or offering the existing course in new high schools.?

Courses must not be developmental (remedial) courses or any other course that is not college level. An applicant may elect to pursue both program initiatives; therefore, would be required to submit two separate proposals. Each proposal would be evaluated and awarded separately.

There is $340,000 in grant funding available to be awarded to selected institutions. Proposals are due by Jan. 31, 2024 and must be submitted through the OHE Grants Portal. Click to find the Request for Application, award timeline and additional grant information [ [link removed] ].
