Hi there –
It has recently come to light that Adobe, through their stock image program, is selling AI-generated images of the Israel-Gaza war – and some websites are now using those images without indicating that they are not real photos. [1]
This isn’t just immoral profiteering … it’s downright dangerous. Misinformation and disinformation are bad enough problems in the world already without a Big Tech corporation profiting from the publication of fake images that could inflame tensions and violence.
SEND YOUR LETTER
Adobe knows they have a problem here, and they’ve admitted that they need to do more to minimize misinformation and harm by updating their policies for AI-generated photos. [2]
AI-generated images of war have enormous potential to fuel misinformation, inflame tensions, and minimize or erase the very real human suffering that people are experiencing at this very moment.
Adobe’s willingness to profit from selling these photos is deeply immoral. Despite any adjustments to their guidelines and tagging protocols, they cannot effectively control how the images are utilized on the internet once sold. But there’s one clear solution to this problem right now: Adobe needs to stop selling AI-generated images of war now.
