Dear John,
The fight to defend religious freedom is never easy.
Let’s face it. We have gone through many trials together this year.
The Constitution and our First Amendment rights seem to face new challenges every day.
At First Liberty, we’ve never been busier. Our clients have never faced more dangerous threats. And our right to live out our faith has never been in more peril.
And yet I’ve never been more optimistic about what tomorrow holds for religious freedom.
Religious Liberty is the Key to a More Faith-Filled Tomorrow Join the Fight for Faith, Family and Freedom!
There is something about the season of Advent that recharges me.
Each year, it serves as a consistent reminder that there is good reason to have hope.
All year long, you’ve heard me say that we have more religious freedom than most of us have had in our lifetimes.
What does that really mean?
It means that our recent victories at the Supreme Court have restored public expressions of faith, redefined religious accommodations in the workplace and eliminated the exclusion of faith-based groups and individuals from government programs.
But unfortunately, these reclaimed freedoms are largely unrealized.
The reason is that too many times people of faith just accept it when they’re told they can’t legally express their faith in public, at school or on the job.
But the truth is now you can.
You can distribute the Gospel of John in a city park like Gail Blair. You can host a religious gathering in your home like Rabbi Illulian. And you can pray after a high school football game like Coach Joe Kennedy.
Yet, despite the Supreme Court’s rulings, the enemies of faith are working overtime to make sure that you believe your rights are still limited when it comes to religious expression.
You and I can already see how they are using threats and intimidation to silence our faith.
That’s why First Liberty is ready, willing and able to fight when brave Americans like you stand-up to these anti-faith bullies.
And thanks to your support, we are fighting for folks like:
-
School Board Member Heather Rooks who was censored by her school district for quoting scripture
-
Fire Chief Ron Hittle who was fired for attending a leadership conference held at a church
-
Bakers Melissa and Aaron Klein who were fined $135,000, forcing them to close their bakery, for declining to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding
Fighting together to defend bold expressions of faith like these...That’s what it will take for you and I to protect our newly restored rights.
Threats and Intimidation Can’t Be Allowed to Win the Day. It’s Time to be Strong and of Good Courage.
How can we secure the future of religious freedom? It will take fighting and winning for people who are boldly living out their faith.
Right now, there’s no better way to take a stand for religious freedom than by supporting First Liberty financially.
Your support allows First Liberty to provide our clients with the best possible defense without ever sending them a bill.
And when you give before midnight on December 31st, you have an opportunity to double the impact of your gift. Every dollar you give will be matched thanks to our $600,000 Matching Grant.
Your gift will give us the means to protect religious freedom today and deliver hope for a brighter, more faith-filled tomorrow.
Together, we can make sure that our children and grandchildren are free to live out their faith.
Yes, I will make a gift today!
Grateful for you,
Kelly
