For the second year in a row, Poynter will offer a series of expert-led and resource-packed webinars designed to enhance journalists’ understanding of topics critical to American life.
These sessions will help journalists tackle the emerging and evolving beats they need the most help synthesizing, while considering the trends driving change in their markets. Lead with Influence (2024)
February, June and October
This virtual leadership training is made for those who want to flex their organizational muscle, but who have no direct reports — leaders who manage big responsibilities like processes, products or platforms.
This four-session workshop was originally designed to help women and nonbinary journalists use their social capital to lead with influence. Due to industry-wide demand, it's being offered three times in 2024:

** Transforming Local Crime Reporting Into Public Safety Journalism (2024)
------------------------------------------------------------
March 19-Sept. 17, 2024
This 24-week virtual course teaches change management to newsroom teams that want to overhaul their criminal justice reporting. Each team will receive feedback and consulting from experts.
With a retail price of more than $10,000, this course is being offered for just $1,000 to U.S.-based newsrooms willing to commit two hours per week on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Eastern. Applications are open to teams of three to six people, including one front-line journalist and one manager with the ability to influence policy.
