This is too important to ignore.

Poll after poll suggests that the reelection of Donald Trump is well within the realm of possibility. As Trump gains momentum, our nation tip-toes ever closer to a dictatorship and the end of American democracy as we know it.

This isn't an exaggeration, it’s not hyperbole. A second Trump presidency would usher in a new era of tyranny.

If the unthinkable should happen and Trump wins, Congress will be the last line of defense to stop him. Retaking our House majority is more important than ever.

Republicans, including my opponent Mike Lawler, have only paved the way for Trump and his rise to power. Lawler even worked to get him elected not once, but twice. Once Trump secures the nomination, he will lay down the red carpet for Trump’s march toward dictatorship with applause.

Everyone, including Republicans, knows exactly who Donald Trump is. Over and over again, he says the quiet part out loud:

-He will pardon the January 6 insurrectionists who nearly overthrew our government
-He will weaponize the FBI and Justice Department to go after his political opponents
-He said immigrants are “poisoning the blood of our country.”
-He pledged to “root out” his political enemies, referring to them as “vermin”—a phrase used by authoritarian figures including Hitler and Mussolini
-He said he would be a “dictator on day one.”

John — Our democracy is hanging on by a thread. We cannot look away, and we cannot slow down. Not only must we stop Donald Trump, we must stop every Republican who continues to do his bidding— including Mike Lawler.
