Dear FAIR family,

We’re in the third week of our year-end fundraiser, and our totals are coming in below what is typical for this time of year, so we still have some work cut out for us. Thank you to all who donated already.

We set a critical goal of raising $100,000 to cover our expenses and get us off on the right foot at the beginning of 2024. As we near the end of the month, we need all hands on deck!

A fearless and powerful Fourth Estate is a central pillar of a robust democracy. FAIR was founded in 1986 because we saw a gap between the speech and press freedoms we’re promised and the narrow range of debate we see in corporate news. Nearly 40 years later, our work still remains critical. When media shrug—or, worse, cheer—in the face of war, racism, poverty, environmental degradation and threats to democracy, it is our job to shout back and challenge the status quo!

FAIR is a small, progressive nonprofit. To put it frankly, we need your contributions to survive. We’re used to doing a lot with a little, but in recent years, we’ve been doing with a bit too little.
