Dear John,

Legal equality is an essential foundation for true gender equality in all aspects of daily life. A country’s laws set the tone for how the government treats its people and how they treat one another. It’s been proven time and time again: when laws discriminate on the basis of sex, cultural inequality and violence against women and girls are legitimized, and become endemic.

Your support has been instrumental in helping Equality Now advance legal equality for women and girls worldwide, and we are deeply grateful. Our team of human rights lawyers, gender experts and advocates on five continents is working with hundreds of partners worldwide to reform laws that undermine women’s health, safety, agency, and full participation in public life.

By renewing your support today, your tax-deductible donation will have twice the impact. Our friends at the InMaat Foundation have generously offered to match every gift we receive by December 31st, dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000.

Our team of human rights lawyers, gender experts and advocates on five continents is working with hundreds of partners worldwide to reform laws that undermine women’s health, safety, agency, and full participation in public life.

This year alone, Equality Now has helped usher in legal reforms in Japan, Mexico, Liberia, Nepal, Bolivia, the US, the UK, Uzbekistan and beyond. We made 18 submissions to the UN, calling out nations that are defaulting on their commitments to gender equality. We are pursuing two strategic litigation cases that will shine a spotlight on how survivors of sexual violence with disabilities are frequently denied justice and revictimized in the court system. We launched the Hurra Coalition in MENA and a new global campaign to reform discriminatory family laws that disadvantage women and girls from the moment they are born. And our recently formed Alliance for Universal Digital Rights has been a go-to source for expert guidance on how to address tech-facilitated violence against women and girls, winning many new government and corporate champions.

All of that is just the tip of the iceberg. We have accelerated progress towards our mission in extraordinary ways this year, but there is more work to be done. You can help us hold the line and push even harder for justice and equality in 2024 by making your tax-deductible gift today. ([link removed])

In solidarity,
