Commissioner Martin O’Malley is the first Social Security Commissioner appointed by a Democratic President to get confirmed by the Senate in decades.

This is great news for our Social Security system. There has only been a Senate-confirmed SSA Commissioner appointed by a Democratic President for 8 of the last 40 years.¹
