Rep. Jim Himes is working hard for Connecticuters and our economy.
As a member of the Financial Services Committee, Rep. Himes works to keep our financial systems safe and well-regulated. He played a major role in writing the Dodd-Frank Act after the Great Recession and continues to advance common-sense financial regulations to protect our economy.
Rep. Himes helped pass the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, securing over $2.9 billion in funds to Connecticut to support jobs, improve public transit, rebuild bridges, and expand access to high-speed internet. He also works to address the housing crisis, bringing millions of dollars in federal grants to southwest Connecticut to build affordable housing for our friends and neighbors.
He also helped secure a $47 million grant from the Department of Energy to increase clean energy production by building a battery manufacturing factory in Bridgeport, creating hundreds of jobs and bringing an economic boost to the community.
The investments Rep. Himes has fought to improve our economic vitality as a state by creating long-term, good-paying, non-exportable jobs for Connecticut.
