Dear Green American,

“Tis the season of giving, but it seems Specialized Bicycle Components is being the Grinch this year, casting a shadow over their claim of being a company that respects human rights in its supply chain. While they deck the halls, the workers who made Specialized’s bike jerseys are being robbed of their fair wages.

Leave a message for Specialized’s top executives: Don’t be a Grinch and Pay Your Workers What’s Rightfully Theirs!

TAKE ACTION

As consumers, our power to shape an equitable world extends beyond festive gifts. The APS factory workers in El Salvador, who worked hard for Specialized’s profit, are owed a heart-wrenching $2.1 million USD in unpaid wages. The Grinch stole their livelihoods when the factory abruptly closed in August 2022, leaving more than 842 families holding empty sacks in distress.

Despite Salvadoran law and the company’s own Code of Conduct requiring fair compensation, Specialized has remained stubbornly silent for more than a year, unlike the other companies that sourced from APS who are negotiating to pay their share. That’s why we need hundreds of people to call Specialized today. We provide the script and number to make it easy.

This holiday season let’s help the Grinch grow its heart. Let’s remind Specialized that their commitment to human rights includes paying their workers its fair share.

TAKE ACTION

Together, we can make this holiday season one of justice, gratitude, and a little less Grinchy.

In solidarity,

Jean Tong
