Dear John,

Thank you to everyone who has already donated! Because of this generosity, we are well on our way to reaching our matching goal of $110,000 before December 31st. Can you help us get to the finish line by making a gift today? [[link removed]]

There are many ways to support AFJ this year:

Become a Monthly Sustainer - Monthly donors sustain AFJ’s fight for justice and equality for all. Sign up here to become a monthly donor. [[link removed]]

Need a Last-Minute Gift Idea? Make a gift in honor of your loved one! Give a meaningful gift—donate in honor of, or in memory of, someone special today. Include their name and email address and we will immediately notify them of your generosity!

Contribute Stocks or Other Assets - If you’re looking for a tax-savvy way to donate, consider donating shares of appreciated stock. Donating stock gives you the opportunity to save on both capital gains taxes and income taxes. And due to these tax savings, your donation can be larger, making your dollar go even further than if you were to sell the stock and donate cash.

Does Your Company Match Your Donations? - Some employers offer gift-matching programs for qualified charities, meaning they’ll match the amount of your donation up to a certain amount. You can search Charity Navigator’s database [[link removed]] to see if your employer offers gift matching or check with your HR department.

Support AFJ through Your Retirement Account’s Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) - People 70.5 and older can donate funds from their IRA accounts directly to qualifying nonprofits. Donating as a QCD counts towards “withdrawing” your Required Minimum Distribution for the year. And the amount of your donation isn’t counted toward your taxable income, which may help you save on income tax! Contact Amy Ciciora director of individual giving at [email protected] for more details.

Create a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) - A Donor-Advised Fund, or DAF, is an investment account where all of your invested assets go to charity. When you contribute to a DAF, you can qualify for an income tax deduction for the amount you contribute in that tax year. You can choose which organizations you’d like to support and when those donations should be made.

Naming Alliance for Justice as a beneficiary of a retirement plan account ( such as an IRA) can be one of the most tax-wise gifts you can make. Simply ask your plan administrator for a beneficiary designation form and write in Alliance for Justice as a full, partial, or contingent beneficiary (Tax ID #52-1009973).

Whichever way you choose to give, THANK YOU for supporting AFJ’s vital work. And gifts of any kind will be matched 1:1 by our generous benefactor, up to $110k! Make your gift today!
