Dwight Evans for Congress

John --

We know it's been a rough few days, but we have the opportunity to turn the anger, frustration, fear, and pain we're all feeling into action.

Trump is filling the airwaves with everything but effective solutions to deal with gun violence, surprising no one. Before even landing in Dayton or El Paso, the NRA-beholden president claimed that there's "no political appetite" for an assault weapons ban.

Well let's prove him wrong today, John: sign the petition to demand Congress pass the Assault Weapons Ban ASAP -- because "enough" finally needs to be enough.

Friend,

I am sad. And I am angry.

In less than 24 hours this weekend, over 30 innocent Americans in Ohio and Texas were gunned down with military-style weapons, injuring 50 or so more in the process.

These are the 21st and 22nd mass killings of 2019, not to mention the shootings that occur in Philadelphia and throughout our country every day. Guns are designed to kill, and to not regulate them is the biggest abdication of our legislators' responsibility at the state and federal level.

Assault-style weapons and high capacity magazines have no place on our city streets, suburban malls, or rural festivals -- these are weapons of war designed for mass casualties, not home protection or hunting. Join Congressman Evans in demanding Congress pass the Assault Weapons Ban today >>

While I'm glad Dwight's colleagues are offering their thoughts and prayers for El Paso and Dayton, MORE needs to be done. We must take swift and immediate action to end gun violence -- we must refuse to let mass shootings continue to be our new normal.

Our country and its citizens deserve better.

Thanks,

Michael
