Dear Fellow Texas Republican,
This evening, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommended suspending
gatherings of 50 people or more for the next 8 weeks. This timeframe affects
the dates for our State Convention and will impact our Senate District and
County Conventions as well.
From the CDC website:
“Therefore, CDC, in accordance with its guidance for large events and mass
gatherings,

recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or
individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or
more throughout the United States.”
Given this news and the dynamic nature of the reaction to Coronavirus, I
invite you to join me for a statewide conference call on Monday, March 16th at
8:00pm CT to share the impact of this news on our March 21st Senate District
and County Conventions and our RPT State Convention.
Call 512-501-3492 at 8:00pm CT tomorrow night - Monday, March 16th - to be a
part of the live update regarding the Coronavirus impact on our March 21st and
State Conventions and to participate with your questions.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter. I hope you will join us
on the call.
Sincerely,
James Dickey
