Hey John,
🎅🎄It was the night before Christmas and all through the Senate,
not a creature was stirring, not even a pollie.
The stockings were hung by the President’s chair with care, in
hopes that some common sense would soon be there… 🎅🎄
CHRISTMAS MESSAGE
Hooley dooley, I can’t believe it’s the week before Christmas.
Where did the year go!
I know that it’s going to be a tough Christmas for a lot of
people. The cost of everyday essentials like rent, petrol and
groceries is through the roof, let alone trying to afford
presents.
I don’t really do presents with my family anymore. I tell them
that spending time together is a gift itself - especially now
that I’m travelling a lot.
So I’m trying to look at Christmas a bit differently this year.
It’s always been about giving back, but this year I’m really
trying to do as much as I can to give back to my community.
I’ve helped out with feeding the homeless with City Mission,
donated plasma at the Red Cross, did some admin with the
wonderful people at Self-Help Workplace and handed out baked
goods to businesses in Launnie where my office is. And I’ve had
the best time doing it.
Heading into Christmas and into the New Year, I encourage
everyone to give back in one way or another, wherever you can.
Even if it’s just one hour of your time. It might not make a huge
difference to you, but it will make a huge difference in the
lives of those you’re helping.

YOUR TAKES:
In the last Tam's Takes, I asked you: Do you put your Christmas
tree up before December 1st or after? Do you have a hard rule
about when the decorations go up?
Here's some your responses:
Our tree goes up around Dec 15th and comes down before New Years
Eve.
National sigh of relief when Boxing Day comes around and the
cricket starts
— Robert
In my family the Christmas tree goes up on 1 December. It comes
down on 12 January.
— Elizabeth
Never before December 1st. No hard rule but usually up after
13/12 (Daughters Birthday). She never liked being second place at
Xmas .
Coming down. Hard rule . All gone within 7 days.
— Jack
Xmas tree - we put ours up the 3rd week in November.
— Brian
And me? I put up the decorations whenever I have time... but
usually the sooner the better! There is quite a bit of tinsel
floating around my office right now.
Have a safe Christmas and New Year with your loved ones, however
you spend it. Let's head into the new year with positive vibes -
I have a good feeling about it!
Until next year,
Tammy Tyrrell
