Dear John,

On Friday I put out a joint statement ([link removed]) with two of my opponents. Carolyn Maloney, Peter Harrison, and I have pledged not to challenge anyone’s petitions. We believe in true democracy. Suraj Patel’s silence says everything.

It says he’s willing to put himself first above others. Someone who will do that while campaigning will do it in office, too.

Looking ahead, we have to be ready to fight for our place on the ballot. ([link removed])

What does it say about a politician who wants to win by drowning their opponents in legal fees, instead of having a fight at the polls about who best represents the needs of the district?

My volunteers are working hard to gather all of our signed petitions so we can proudly turn more than 4x the required number of them this Tuesday. Unfortunately, that means less time phonebanking. In addition, our opponents have 4 days to submit a challenge to our right to be on the ballot. We don’t have the deep pockets of someone with more than 100 maxed out donors in just 2019, so we will make every dollar count! ([link removed])
