Hey-
We have an IMPORTANT question for you:
Are you in? A political volcano is rumbling, and we're anticipating a major eruption of support for abortion rights at next year's General Election.
2023 has been intense in URGE's investment states: in Georgia, abortion was banned after 6 weeks of pregnancy. In Texas, we watched as Kate Cox fled the state to obtain the emergency abortion she needed, and in Ohio, Brittany Watts fights a felony charge for a miscarriage. All this while Alabamans still live under a total abortion ban. On the federal level, SCOTUS just announced they'll hear a case about medication abortion in the Spring of 2024, which has the potential to eliminate one of the remaining safe abortion options for millions of Americans.
It doesn't stop at the legal battles. Political battles rage on, and in every single state that has voted on abortion since Roe fell, abortion has won in all seven, including Kansas and Ohio. Together, these conditions are creating the setting for a seismic confrontation in 2024. We are gearing up to meet the moment.
Young people are uniting to create a powerful surge for lawmakers to lift barriers to abortion and end laws that target our ability to thrive. Can I count on you to be a part of our 2024 surge for abortion rights? Click here to sign up>>
Watts' case and the coverage of it illuminate the importance of URGE's mission centering Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, and the most marginalized communities in this work. URGE is building a future where we determine our sexual identities, our gender expression, and whether or not to have kids, without politicians interfering. Are you going to get involved in the eruption for abortion rights next year?
