We’d like to begin this correspondence by thanking all of our healthcare workers, at home care providers and emergency first responders across the nation. We hope you are able to stay healthy and emotionally supported during these next few weeks. The first casualty has occurred in Oregon ([link removed]) ; we are following these CDC guidelines ([link removed]) and encourage you to review them as well for your health, safety and those around you. It’s up to us to make the power of community even more apparent during these times; kindness and patience go a long way, so let’s place a priority on practicing these even more.
As we all wait out the status of COVID-19, we will be pausing canvassing and picking up phone banking more vigorously. City forums have been cancelled, events postponed - please know that for the foreseeable future, we will be making Raiford2020 accessible online. We are taking your recommendations on how to make this a smooth transition as well, so please reach out. Continue to promote democracy and this campaign by signing up for phone-banking sessions! The committee will be covering different experiences on the campaign trail as well as sharing information about what matters to Portland voters. This is a great opportunity to hear Teressa speak on a variety of subjects as well.
