Team,
As Republicans ramp up their attacks against women and the right to abortion, I wanted to reach out to reaffirm my commitment to secure access to reproductive healthcare nationwide.
Last week, the Texas Supreme Court overturned a ruling that would have allowed Kate Cox, a mother of two facing health-threatening pregnancy complications, the right to an abortion. Despite weeks of testing and visits to the emergency room confirming the nonviability of her pregnancy, Republican judges ruled that she did not qualify for a medical exemption under Texas law.
Soon after, she was forced to leave the state for an abortion procedure.
Team, this is the outcome of Republican control of abortion rights. Had Roe v. Wade not been overturned in 2022, Kate Cox would have been able to proceed with an abortion in Texas. Kate Cox’s case reignites the urgency of protecting abortion rights and codifying Roe v. Wade.
Will you join me in demanding Congress protect abortion rights and codify Roe v. Wade?

Showing widespread support helps us build momentum and sends the message that denying the right to an abortion will not be swept under the rug.
I hope you’ll join me and sign my petition to demand Congress: protect abortion rights.
Thanks for joining me,
Linda
