John,
Since the fall of Roe v. Wade, women nationwide have been forced into impossible situations. Here in Texas, things are particularly dire.
When Texas woman Kate Cox was 20 weeks pregnant, she learned that her fetus had a genetic condition incompatible with life. She believed that she would qualify for the exemption in Texas’ abortion law, which says that if the life of the mother is at risk, a pregnancy can be ended. Kate consulted lawyers and doctors, and petitioned the government for access to an abortion.
She was denied. With time running short, she traveled to another state to obtain the services she needed.
Let me be crystal clear, John: The fact that a woman has to beg the government permission to have a life-saving medical procedure is a horror that we should never get used to.
My entire career, I’ve advocated for reproductive rights and bodily autonomy. In the Texas House, I served as Vice-Chair of the Women’s Health Caucus. If elected to Congress, I’m committed to fighting to reinstate abortion rights and write Roe into law. I’m done with Republican men telling women what we can and can’t do with our bodies.
If you stand with me in the fight for reproductive rights, will you add your name now? [[link removed]]

Kate Cox is one of thousands of women nationwide who face impossible decisions with complicated pregnancies. These women deserve compassion and care - but if they live in a red state like Texas, they are instead met with unfathomable cruelty at the hands of their government.
I will never, ever stop fighting to right this heinous wrong. Abortion must be safe and legal. Period.
Please stand with me in the continued fight for reproductive rights by adding your name now. [[link removed]]
Thank you,
Julie
