John,
I just got back from spending the week in Harrisburg, where we finished up our final legislative session before the holidays. I want to share with you a few of the things we’ve done this year.
✅Protected reproductive rights - Through my election, we have a ONE seat majority to preserve abortion rights in Pennsylvania. I was also proud to vote for legislation to shield our health professionals from draconian and dangerous anti-abortion laws in other states.
✅Passed common sense gun safety bills - As an emergency physician, I know we need to address the public health crisis that is gun violence. I have voted for common sense bills that will require background checks and remove guns from those who are an acute danger to themselves or others.
✅Enacted an enhanced child and dependent care tax credit, record setting investment in public education, and property tax and rent relief - Working families need help to deal with the costs we face today. I am proud to have voted for a budget that provides real investment in our people and community.
In my district, my team and I have directly served nearly 10,000 constituents. I’m proud to say I personally have knocked over 7,000 doors this year to directly speak with the people I serve where they are.
When I ran last year, I promised to focus on responsible government that will make our communities safer, strengthen our first responders, and empower our families to thrive. I’m committed to continuing to do that as I run for reelection next year, but my campaign will need resources to be successful.
Can you chip in today to support my reelection fund, so we can run a strong campaign in the new year?
Thank you for your support, and Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
Rep. Arvind Venkat, MD
