Friends,

With almost 3,000 farms and some of the most fertile soil in the country, it’s no surprise that agriculture is the number one economic driver in communities throughout Central and Southern Illinois. That’s why I was proud to join colleagues on both sides of the aisle to vote for an extension on the Farm Bill last month.

While I am happy that we were able to keep vital nutrition programs like SNAP going, we owe it to farmers across the country to put aside the partisan games to finally pass a bipartisan Farm Bill that prioritizes our communities.

There is too much on the line to sit on the sidelines, so I will continue holding the line to meet this moment with the urgency it deserves.

So I will be working around the clock to ensure my colleagues are standing with me to pass a bipartisan Farm Bill that will expand job opportunities, put food on the table, and provide our farmers with the resources they deserve.
