It’s more than just economic growth for the Tulsa region. **The Tulsa I-44 and US 75 Interchange Project will save lives.** That project wouldn’t be possible without the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill. MAGA Rep. Kevin Hern voted NO to this bill. I’m running for Congress in Oklahoma’s First District to defeat Hern. To me, that Bill is a matter of life or death.



The I-44 and US 75 Interchange is one of Oklahoma’s deadliest. **A fatality and/or serious injury crash occurs there every 5 days**. Before I was an FBI Special Agent, I was a Tulsa Police Officer. I know almost every street, intersection, and interchange in Tulsa. So when I think of highway improvements, I don’t usually think of the economic impact. I think of lives saved.



I think of every crash I responded to as an Officer. Every life shattered. I don’t want that to happen to anyone. So when there’s a chance to save lives and at the same time further economic growth, then that’s what we should do. **That’s not what Kevin Hern did. He voted NO, along with the entire Oklahoma Republican Congressional Delegation, to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill**. Hern voted NO because he’s a far-right extremist who will never work with Democrats for the common good of our country. Fortunately, a Democratic majority passed it.



As a result, Tulsa received an $85 million grant to fix the I-44 and US 75 Interchange. **The safer interchange will reduce the crash rate by 45 percent and save 15 lives and 77 serious injuries over the 25-year life of the project.** Every lost life and every injury has an economic impact. Saving those lives and preventing those injuries will save $100 million dollars.



Because of this Bill, Tulsa is also receiving $21.2 million to reduce traffic fatalities. That means addressing dangerous intersections, improving traffic signals, and installing rapid-flash beacons at pedestrian crossings. **This wouldn’t be possible if Hern’s NO vote prevailed.**



**Please remember that when you’re in the voting booth.** Remember your vote can be a matter of life or death. Oklahoma deserves a representative in Congress with Oklahoma values. A representative who believes protecting our community is more important than playing partisan politics.
