John,

We met Paola when she was very young.

She came to a feeding center we set up in a community of children at high risk for sexual exploitation and trafficking. She was malnourished and easily frightened.

And yet we also saw a bright and lively spirit in her. Every day at the feeding center, she would sit down to imagine fantastical landscapes with colored pencils or listen intently during storybook time – studying the reader’s face.

When the troubling facts of her exploitation came to light, Paola was admitted to our safe home, and the court case against her perpetrators took motion.

Eventually, she bravely decided to testify against her abuser. He’s in prison now and will be for a very long time.

We were able to support her at every turn, thanks to you.

Today, Paola is a warm, extroverted middle schooler. She still sketches with her colored pencils, but she has also discovered joy in picking fruit from the safe home garden, braiding her friends’ hair, visiting the aquarium, and dipping french fries in chocolate ice cream.

This is the type of work your donation makes possible.

The love that you show disrupts stories of exploitation for kids like Paola.

Will you give what you can, today? Every dollar matters. Thanks to a group of generous donors, your contributions are currently being matched!

YES, I’LL GIVE WHAT I CAN TODAY

Recently, Paola told us that she wants to be a doctor when she grows up. We’re going to keep fighting to make sure she has every chance she deserves to heal, thrive, and be whatever she wants to be. We’re in this with her for the long haul and you can be too.

Thanks to a group of generous supporters including Hankey’s Radio, everything you give by December 20th will be matched, up to $50,000 for a total of $100,000 raised! Your gift matters tremendously in caring for survivors and preventing child trafficking.
