For the next 12 days, we're celebrating the "12 Days of Ballotpedia".
Our focus is to illuminate various aspects of Ballotpedia’s mission and demonstrate the reliable and impartial information we provide on politics and policy.
We're excited to share key aspects of our efforts and hope you will consider supporting Ballotpedia to help us extend our reach even further next year.
With that, let’s start at the very beginning!
Ballotpedia began more than fifteen years ago with a few hundred pages focused on providing impartial and unbiased information on U.S. ballot measures. The aim was to equip voters with knowledge about their ballots, helping them make well-informed choices during elections.
As time passed, Ballotpedia's scope broadened, but the commitment to its core mission of informing voters has remained the same.
For over fifteen years, Ballotpedia has committed itself to enhancing voters' understanding of their ballots. We maintain a thorough record of ballot measures at state and territorial levels, as well as a significant number of local ballot measures.
We have compiled a detailed database of state ballot measures, dating back to 1785. Currently, the database includes more than 16,000 measures.
Ballotpedia also produces an original newsletter, State Ballot Measures Monthly, formerly known as Tuesday Count. This monthly series tracks the certification of ballot measures and relevant news, summarizing measures certified in each month's report.
Ballotpedia continues to grow and provide vital information on ballot measures, thanks to your support. We look forward to continuing this valuable service to our readers in 2024!
Best,
Leslie Graves
